Lay Geok Yeo, Founder and Director of LG&D, actively conducts training for financial institutions on industry regulations and developments. As a consultant, she advises clients on regulatory strategies for the financial services industry.
Her expertise is garnered from more than two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. Lay Geok was with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) for 15 years as a regulator overseeing banking and payment systems, and covering data governance and supervisory technology in the Data Analytics Group. Lay Geok joined KPMG in 2019 where she managed projects in the data strategy and regulatory technology space for financial services clients. She also represented the firm at client and industry events to speak on regulatory reporting for banks, and payment services.
LG&D was set up in October 2020 by Lay Geok with the vision of empowering professionals to advance their careers by enhancing their knowledge and skillsets through training programs. These programs draw on her knowledge and know-how to guide and support professionals in navigating the current global environment.
Apart from traditional regulatory matters, Lay Geok is passionate about addressing issues at the forefront of the industry and aims to be ahead of the curve in the training and advisory she offers. With sustainability having a greater bearing on businesses today, Lay Geok conducts awareness programs to assist start-ups and Small Medium Enterprises (“SMEs”) to integrate sustainable practices into their business models. She also tackles the challenges that digitalisation brings, and how to manage them. Lay Geok is excited to work with professionals and empower them for the journey ahead.
